A-PVP synthesis write-up

So, all you need is :
Magnetic stiring hot plate
2-Hole Flask
Condenser
Additional Funel
Separetion funel
Hydrochlorid acid
Toulene
Pyrolidine
2-Bromovalerophenone
Sodium Hydroxyde
Methanol
Acetone
Vacum filtration


Procedure :

Make a solution in the flask of one mole(241.12 grams) of bromovalerophenone and 200ml Toulene, place in an ice-bath on the stiring plate and add 2,5 moles(178 grams) of Pyrrolidine and 100ml of methanol into the additional funel, starting stiring and drip your pyrolidine, in the reaction will be produced one mole of hydrochlorid acid as byproduct wich will react with the alfa base or the pyrolidine in the solution, so its why we need more molar exess of pyrrolidine to enshure complete conversation, once all the pyrolidine is added, the ice bath is removed and the flask is heated to boiling for 4 hours, then the reaction is once washed with a solution of 1,5moles(60 grams) Sodium Hydroxyde and 200ml water, then washed two more times with alkaline water (a few grams sodium hydroxide per 100ml), then the Toulene layer is removed, filtered and is added 1,5moles(54,69 grams dry gass, araund 150-150ml as a 37% solution) Hydrochlolorid acid, the acidic layer is separated in the funel and evaporated in a water bath to obtain 240 grams as a crude powder, mostly brownly-pink stuff, place the powder in vacum filtration and wash with solution of cold Acetone and Methanol (3:1), this will improve the color to white and remove most of the impurities, then its time to recrystalize it, disolve your powder in minimal amaunts of Methanol and let it evaporate slowly in a dark place to obtain 230 grams of white A-PVP crystals with overall 90% yield based on 2bromovalerophenone used

im a ex chemist i had scaled the same reaction 100x times and everytime the same yield and product have been coming, so trust me im not a troll if you have any questions regarding to the procedure feel free to post
